What should be your Cover Photo?
What are Digitals and Portfolio Photos?
Highlight: It is highly recommended that your Cover Photo is a headshot that best represent you. On the other hand, Digitals will show your natural look and even better, yourself in raw. Digitals are basic. Portfolio photos on the other hand should help show your range as a model. Portfolio photos show the “wow” factor in you.
Cover Photo
The Cover Photo is the very first photo a talent scout or anyone browsing the talent directory would see. This is why it is very important that your cover photo is the best representation of you.
A close up photo, either chest-up or waist-up is best because it highlights your facial features and encapsulates your emotion.
A great cover photo must be inviting but shouldn’t be showing too much of you. It should provoke interest, so that the audience would want to view the rest of your profile/portfolio.

Digitals
Model’s digitals should have minimal makeup known as the “natural look” or no makeup at all. Clothing worn should be form fitting and either a black or white top and black or denim pants/leggings. The background is either white or grey. These are normally the photos that go on your comp card and can be a headshot, half body, full body, close up
Modeling digitals, also known as model digitals or polaroid, are a set of professional photographs that showcase a model’s appearance, features, and versatility. Modeling digitals help agents, casting directors, and clients get a better understanding of the model’s look and suitability for different types of modeling jobs.

Portfolio
A model’s portfolio photo may include their digitals but is highly discouraged because your portfolio is where the glam and all other artistic expressions can come out. Your portfolio photo can come from previous projects, collaboration, ads or just photoshoots you’ve done with experienced fashion photographers.
Modeling portfolios have a variety of pictures that showcase your skills to the agency, which can help the agency decide to hire you.
Here are (8) of the Most Recommended Types of Portfolio Photos that models should have in their portfolio:
A Beauty Shot or Clean Headshot
A Black & White Shot
A Full-Length Body Shot
A Swimsuit Shot
An Editorial Fashion Shot
A Commercial Shot
A Smiling Shot
A Strong Closing Shot
