The Charlotte Fashion Collective is an organisation operating in Charlotte, North Carolina. While we have not affiliated ourselves, partnered or have any form of representation in California, it is possible that we may have members that are California Residents. 

The Charlotte Fashion Collective, as of this writing is not subject to CCPA. However, due to our efforts towards transparency and responsibility as an organisation that is here for the people, we, hereby, through our best efforts commit to comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and its amendments through the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).

With that being said, we would like to express to California Residents that this Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, sell, share, and retain your personal information on our websites, in our apps, when you participate in one of our events, and your rights and choices over our processing of your personal information. This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) describes how The Charlotte Fashion Collective (CFC) and its affiliates, subsidiaries, and related entities operating under the Charlotte Fashion Collective brand (“Charlotte Fashion Collective,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collect, use, disclose, and retain personal information about individuals that interact with each website, mobile site, marketing campaign, event, email, newsletter, and other online or offline activity, that links to or references this Policy (collectively, the “Services”). This Policy also describes the rights that you may have regarding how we process your personal information under applicable and relevant local law.

By accessing or using any of our provided services and consumption of our content, you acknowledge and agree that your personal information will be handled as described in this Policy. Your use of our provided services and consumption of our content, and any dispute over privacy, is subject to this Policy and our CFC Terms of Use. 1. Classification of Personal Information That We Collect About You

Personal Information: The law broadly defines personal information as “information that identifies, relates to, describes, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular consumer or household.” Cal. Depending on the services you use and contents you interact with on our website, The Charlotte Fashion Collective, we may collect the following categories of personal information about you directly from you, automatically through your use of the services and consumption of contents.

  • WordPress & MemberPress Registration: Identifiers, such as your name, telephone number, unique online identifier, IP address, user ID, device ID, or similar identifier, signature, postal address, zip code, and email address.
  • WordPress Geolocation: Geolocation data, such as the general physical location of your device.
  • Mainboard Talent Directory: Professional information, such as occupation, employment history, professional contact information, education history, or other information provided by you in connection with the services used or content interacted with.
  • MemberPress Subscription: Sensitive personal information, as defined under relevant local law, such as certain characteristics of protected classifications as defined above, account login credentials and passwords, and financial account information, credit card number, debit card number, or other payment card information.
  • Stripe & Acuity Scheduling: Payment records, such as your financial account information, credit card number, debit card number, or other payment card information, when necessary for the services.
  • WordPress WooCommerce: Commercial information, such as your purchase, registration, log-in and content interaction, services provided to you and your usage history.

Information We Obtain Directly From You

We collect personal information directly from you when you take advantage of our services and interact with our contents, such as when you provide us with information online or at an physical in-person event (e.g., scan a QR code, upload or otherwise provide content or comments, enter a contest, submit a survey). 

If you register for an account on our website or set up a profile through our MemberPress, we may collect your name, login credentials and password information, telephone number(s), postal address, email address, and information regarding your age, gender.

If you make a purchase through Stripe or Acuity Scheduling, we may collect your financial account information, credit card number, debit card number, or other payment card information. 

If you contact us through Google Forms or WordPress Forms, we may collect information such as your name, social media handles,  email address, the contents of a message or attachments that you may send to us, and other information that you choose to provide. 

We also may collect information that you provide when creating and updating your Talent Profiles in our Official CFC Talent Directory that is powered by Mainboard, New York.

Information We Collect Automatically. 

We, through BlueHost, WordPress.com and WordPress.org automatically collect personal information when you use our services and interact with our contents, using cookies, tags, or similar technologies. This may include information such as your IP address and the types of personal information such as your email address and other online activities -both identifiable and non-identifiable to you.

2. How The Information We Collect Is Disclosed

We may disclose each of the classifications of personal information described above for our non-profit and networking purposes as follows:

  • Website Providers: We may disclose the personal information we collect about you to our website providers, hosts, and website administrators who perform functions and operations on our behalf, for the purposes set out above. For example, your information may be necessarily disclosed to Mainboard, NY as they host and provide us the tools we need to provide members their profiles on the CFC Talent Directory.
  • Agencies, Talent Scouts, Casting Agents and Other Similar Professions or Business: We may disclose the personal information we collect about you to Agencies, Talent Scouts, Casting Agents and Other Similar Professions or Businesses who perform functions and operations in order to provide our members with legitimate opportunities that are beneficial to them.
  • Security, Authentication and Identification Use:  We may use your information for identification and authentication purposes, especially to assure the security of your account on our website.
  • In Response to Any Forms of Legal Process: We may need to disclose your personal information where we deem necessary to comply with the applicable and relevant law, a judicial proceeding, court order, or other legal process, such as in response to a court order or a subpoena.
  • To Provide Protection to Other & The Charlotte Fashion Collective as An Entity: We disclose your personal information where we believe it is appropriate to do so to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the safety of any person, violations of our User Agreement or this Policy, or as evidence in litigation in which we are involved.

You may have certain rights regarding how we process your personal information under relevant and applicable local law/s, including if you are a resident and/or a consumer in California, and Virginia.   • Request to correct, update or rectify the personal information we hold about you by exercising your right to correct an information about yourself;
  • Request a copy of your personal information, and exercise your right to access;
  • Request the complete removal or partial deletion of your stored personal information;
  • Request to withdraw or revoke previously provided consent, withdraw such consent to our processing of your personal information at any time you desire for any reason at all;
  • Right to not be unlawfully discriminated against for you exercising your rights.

We, The Charlotte Fashion Collective, on the other hand, reserve the right to take transparent, responsible and reasonable steps to proceed with an authentication to verify your identity before fulfilling any request received pertaining to the prior mentioned rights above, such as: requests to know, correct, update, rectify, obtain a copy of, limit use of, or delete any information we currently have stored about you. We may require to establish and validate your identity to a reasonable degree of certainty by first and foremost, matching information that you have submitted to us along with your request vs. the information that we have in our records. All efforts are to provide protection to you, others and the CFC as an entity.

Retention of Information

We, The Charlotte Fashion Collective, on the other hand, reserve the right to responsibly and reasonably retain and store your information for a necessary period of time, when and where there is a necessary reason, such to be able to continue providing you our services and content; and to also retain your information in accordance with relevant and applicable local law.

We use the classifications of personal information described above for the following non-profit and networking purposes:

  • To Provide Our Services and Contents and Create Opportunities to Our Members: We use your information to provide and maintain our services, create necessary content, grow our network, to constantly work on creating opportunities, and to communicate with you, to respond to your inquiries, and for other member support and administration purposes.
  • To Constantly Improve Our Services, Formulate Newer Contents and Explore More Beneficial Assets We Can Bring To The CFC Member Base: We use your information to understand and analyse our member base and how you use the content and services we provide, in order to improve and enhance the content and services we provide to you, our members, and thus, allow us to formulate new ideas, services, functionality and opportunities beneficial to the Charlotte Fashion Collective members.
  • Security, Authentication and Identification Use:  We may use your information for identification and authentication purposes, especially to assure the security of your account on our website.
  • To Provide Protection To Others & The Charlotte Fashion Collective As An Entity: We may use your information where we believe necessary to research, probe, investigate, prevent, or take action against, on suspected or actual illegal activities, fraud, circumstances involving potential threats to the safety of any entity, member, person or to otherwise enforce this Privacy Policy and/or the integrity, credibility and transparency of The Charlotte Fashion Collective.

5. The Protection & Security of Your (“My”) Information

We implement online, in-person and all other security measures designed to protect your personal information. These measures are in place to protect the personal information we collect from information misuse, alteration, loss, theft, unauthorised access, and disclosure. 

Disclaimer: Please provide us with reasonable leniency by being aware and realistic,  that despite our extreme efforts for data security, there are still no available full-proofed data security measures available as of this writing, for both online or physically collected and stored information.

6. Children & Minors

Our content and services are not always appropriate for children ages 12 and younger, nor to pre-teens who are 17 and under. In order to protect Children and Minor from such content and services, we request that parents, guardians and/or legal representatives/agents of a minor or child to take charge of any account creation, membership sign up, events sign up and content interactions on The Charlotte Fashion Collective’s site.

Our domain host and website provider, BlueHost and WordPress may independently or in conjunction use cookies in connection with our services and content provided on our site, in a way that collects personal information for the purposes described in the respective privacy policies, including without limitation to determine whether you have seen a particular content before on the same or different device and to otherwise control and tailor the display of ads to you based on your perceived preferences by collecting data to track the movements of individual users through the services and content on our site and elsewhere on the internet over time and across unaffiliated websites, apps, and devices.

This Policy is current as of the date stated above. We reserve the right to change this policy when necessary, so please make sure to check our policies regularly, as well as our FAQs, Terms of User and Disclaimer here on our website. If we ever make any changes to this policy that involves an impactful effect to the collective’s provision of services and content, and the practices covering the information we have previously collected about you, we will put an effort to provide our users, subscribers and members notice either via Email, text or our Social media pages.
